We will be celebrating Earth Day the WHOLE month of April. Throughout the month we have scheduled activities and events to participate in. You can win prizes through participation in our activities. See information below for full details.

Green Team Committee Events

Service Project

Join us to weave plastic grocery bags into sleeping mats!  The mats are given to the local unsheltered community.


You can join anytime between 11:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the Salt Palace or Expo Center (see dates below). It will be an open house with snacks and movies!

Landfill Diversion Training

Learn about the Salt Palace Convention Center and Mountain America Expo Center landfill diversion programs, from recycling to donations. We will also cover some ways you can help at home.

Dreamscapes

Come to Dreamscapes! The immersive art exhibit made from repurposed materials created by the Utah Arts Alliance. While we are there we will be particpating in a scavenger hunt to earn prizes!

Repair Workshop

Fashion and Design teacher at SLCC, Amy, will be showing us how to mend our clothing and do simple sewing repairs.


Bring clothing or fabic items from home that needs to be mended.

Clear The Air Challenge

Track ALL of your travel, including work, grocery stores, activities, events and anywhere else you go, for the whole month of April in the tracker sheet. Turn your tracker in through this Asana form by Friday, May 8 to be eligible for a prize. Winners are those who reduce their carbon emissions most.

Sustainability Showdown

Earn points by participating in Sustainability Showdown activities! Please read all of the rules and view the leaderboard below.

Rules:

  • AT LEAST two of the five activities marked with the green star are required to win the GRAND prize.
  • Even if you score the most points, you will not be eligible to win the grand prize without completing two of the green star activities.
  • Participation prizes will be allocated.
  • Points are not repeatable. Each activity can be completed more than once, but you only receive points once.
  • The Asana form (linked here) needs to be filled out per each activity to be eligible for points associated with their completion.
  • Make sure to have each form filled out, with proof (if required) to receive the points.
  • Proof is required for some activities. These will be turned in through the Asana form (linked here), points will be allocated for activities requiring proof only if proof was provided.
  • The PDF scorecard is for your own tracking, and points will only be distributed according to whether or not the Asana form (linked here) was filled out.
